CTEEA-Manchester High FREE SeaPerch Drive and Test Day (December 17, 2026)

Launch, Test, and Explore!

SeaPerch ROV Pool Day at Manchester High School

Manchester High School invites students and teachers to a free day of hands-on learning in the pool! Bring your SeaPerch remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to test its performance, practice driving, troubleshoot problems, and explore ways to improve its operation.

Both new and experienced teams are welcome. Whether this is your first time putting your SeaPerch in the water or an opportunity to sharpen your team’s skills, join us to gain experience, share ideas, and learn alongside other participants.

This event is also an opportunity for schools to begin preparing teams for the 2027 SeaPerch State Championship Competition, on March 23, 2027, hosted by Central Connecticut State University and funded by General Dynamics Electric Boat. The nation’s premier submarine builder, Electric Boat, has facilities in Groton, Connecticut, and Quonset Point, Rhode Island.

Teachers are welcome to attend without students. If you have built a SeaPerch but haven’t had the opportunity to try it in a pool, this is your chance to test your ROV and build confidence before bringing the experience to your classroom.

Throughout the day, Greg Kane, one of RoboNation’s Master SeaPerch Trainers, will be available to answer questions, help troubleshoot, and support participants as they test and operate their vehicles.

Teachers will also have the opportunity to tour Manchester High School’s Technology and Engineering Education program—one of the largest in Connecticut. Its eight-teacher department has created dynamic learning opportunities for students, including the most award-winning student video production programs in the state. The tour offers a chance to explore the facilities and gather ideas for your own program.
